Professional Experience

Dr. Ismail Shaker is an environmental consultant at Kaizen with extensive experience in environmental management and sustainability across the Middle East and North Africa. He previously served as the founder and CEO of Envirotrade for Environmental and Technical Support, leading major initiatives in environmental impact assessment, waste management, and pollution monitoring. In parallel, he headed the Environmental Tests Unit at Acerta Middle East and has also worked with the International Agency for Sustainable Development, Alex Petro Technical Services, and the Tabbin Institute for Metallurgical Studies (TIMS). His career reflects strong leadership in managing multidisciplinary environmental projects across the oil and gas, industrial, construction, and hospitality sectors.

Practical Experience

Dr. Shaker has led and contributed to a wide range of environmental consulting projects, including Environmental Impact Assessments (EIA), pollution monitoring, and waste-recycling initiatives. His portfolio includes collaborations with international and regional entities such as ExxonMobil, Halliburton, P&G, Lafarge Cement, and GIZ’s CirculaMare project in the Mediterranean. In Saudi Arabia, he has served as an environmental expert for the National Center for Environmental Compliance, preparing gap-analysis reports and training inspectors on the Saudi Environmental Law and ISO 17020 requirements. His consultancy work with Al-Kayan Al Amthal, the Saudi Investment Recycling Company (SIRC), and ARAMCO’s MGS3 project further demonstrates his technical expertise in environmental auditing, air-quality monitoring, and sustainable development practices.

Educational Background and Training

Dr. Shaker holds a Ph.D. in Sustainable Development, an M.Sc. in Environmental Engineering, and a B.Sc. in Science from Al-Azhar University. He also earned a Carbon Footprint Diploma from NQI (2024) and multiple professional diplomas in business administration, marketing, finance, sales, human resources, and leadership. His technical credentials include certifications in ISO 14001, ISO 45001, ISO/IEC 17025, OHSAS 18001, and ISO 9001 internal auditing. He has completed specialized international training, including the Air Pollution Control course at the Osaka City Institute of Public Health and Environmental Sciences in Japan (supported by JICA), as well as advanced assessor training on ISO/IEC 17029:2019 and ISO 14065:2020 in 2024.
