Every nation throughout history has its days of pride, and every people have their national glories and historical achievements. In this trusted country, we are honored to celebrate our glorious national day, remembering a great national event created for us by our honorable fathers on a magnificent day of our eternal days. On this day, history turned a bright page narrating the struggle of heroes and opened a new pristine page for building generations. Between these two luminous pages, a state was established, a bond was formed, and a people united.
This happened on a day when God delighted the eyes of the founder and builder of the third Saudi state: Abdulaziz bin Abdulrahman Al Faisal Al Saud – may God have mercy on him and honor his resting place – after a long struggle he and his brave companions endured for the sake of upholding God’s word and building a proud and great nation. God crowned his strife and struggle by enabling him to achieve the miracle of unifying all parts of the far-flung state, which he and his righteous sons after him established on the foundations of belonging and loyalty, laying the groundwork for identity, security, and development.
On this day every year * * * Our memory comes with a day of harmony
God united us under a leader * * * Who pledged to the truth and protected the covenant
He led us in a procession that still * * * Its tale is on the tongues of people
Thus, the wise king and founding leader announced the name of his young state: (The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia) ninety-four years ago. One people, one homeland, one goal, with Islam, unity, and construction as its motto, and brotherhood, cohesion, and compassion as its pioneer, aiming to spread peace and establish security.
The hero (Abdulaziz) declared it a cohesive national unity, holding fast to God’s rope without division. A unity blessed by God, which set forth strong and steady on the path of truth and light. God watched over its journey, knowing the purity of intention and determination in its leaders’ hearts to uphold His word. He revealed to us the treasures of the earth and established us in it. The country’s scattered parts came together, its far and near united within a single framework under an eternal, immortal slogan – There is no god but Allah, Muhammad is the Messenger of Allah.
With the dawn of this glorious day, processions of goodness set forth, driven by the arms of the nation’s men and knights, building structures, raising flags, bursting springs, watering the land, spreading goodness, preparing strength, and laying the foundations of a blessed renaissance that we enjoy today in every field. They continue to follow their charted path towards development, urbanization, and progress in a race with time.
(Abdulaziz) was the godfather of the unification epic, a believer in his Lord, truthful with Him in word and deed, loyal to his religion, country, and people, ascetic in worldly matters, loving goodness, naturally inclined to tolerance, courage, forbearance, patience, and foresight. What can we say when his biography has filled volumes and history has preserved it in its depths with the ink of pride.
God has honored and blessed our country. By His grace, and then by the determination of its exceptional leaders and the will of its proud people, it has never known the colonialism that afflicted many countries. This was pointed out by His Highness the Crown Prince, the noble Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz – may God protect him – during one of his successful foreign visits, saying: “Our country was never colonized.”
When we speak today about this glorious day, we remember God’s blessings upon us, meeting them with more gratitude and prayer. Our sons, daughters, and grandchildren should understand the meaning of the Saudi National Day, realize the dimensions of its goals and the extent of its benefits, and preserve them with gratitude for prosperity, abundance, justice, and knowledge, and with praise for security, strength, and dignity.
So that they may approach the fountains of knowledge and learning with attentive ears, conscious hearts, and sincere determination, may God protect them and guide them to success, so that tomorrow they may contribute to carrying the trust and fulfilling the mission with which God has honored us towards their religion, country, and society.
On our 94th National Day, we recall with great pride and honor the approach of our wise leadership represented by the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, and His Highness the Crown Prince, Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud – may God protect them and support them with His victory. We remember the wise policies, future visions, strategic plans, civilizational investments, and pioneering global roles in promoting international peace, reviving the global economy, and achieving prosperity for peoples that our wise leadership undertakes.
What we see today and enjoy, we and future generations – God willing – of abundant goodness, security, safety, and comprehensive renaissance, obliges us to ask God Almighty to perpetuate our country’s security, stability, and prosperity, to strengthen its leaders and provide them with help and support, and to protect our country from all evil and harm. He is indeed generous, all-hearing, near, and responsive.
